The Mayor of Kragujevac, Nikola Dašić, organized a reception, at the beginning of the weekend, for the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Korea, Nemanja Grbić, at which Kragujevac’s economic potentials were presented.
The new ambassador is leaving the position of coordinator of the Sector for Bilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, and before that he was the Secretary General of the National Commission of Serbia for UNESCO and the Attaché of Serbia in Tokyo.
“The duty of the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Korea is an opportunity that appeared and which I accepted with pleasure because that region is not foreign to me,” Grbić emphasized during his visit to Kragujevac.
According to him, there is a huge potential between Serbia and Korea, which has not been used enough and whatever moves will be good, be it in terms of economic cooperation, investments, and above all the car industry. On that occasion, Grbić visited Kragujevac before taking office in order to get acquainted with the potentials of the city and the economy.
“Kragujevac has something to say and show,” said Mayor Dasic, reminding that this city is one of the four university centers in Serbia, but what sets it apart is the industrial tradition and skilled workforce, as well as the fact that it is the cradle of dual education that started 167 years ago with the founding of the first craft school at the Military Technical Institute.
Today, according to him, the directions in high schools and faculties are adjusted to the needs of the economy, which has made the readiness to participate in the education process official through contracts. Among the signatories are AMM, Union Components, Siemens and Nikom.
In addition to the city’s industrial zones, Kragujevac also has a private industrial zone unique in Serbia, the MIND Park. As a base for their further development, Kragujevac has chosen – Fiat-Chrysler cars, Siemens, Mind Group, Yanfeng, Teknia, Megle, FORTACO, Hedlmeyer, Metro, Lidl and many other companies.
The reception in the City Assembly was also attended by Aleksandar Milošević, the assistant mayor for the realization of capital projects and cooperation with the Government of Serbia, who introduced Grbić in more detail to the new projects in Kragujevac, Danas reports.
