Dušan Borovčanin, Director of EXPO 2027, announced that the first preparatory meeting for the Specialized Exhibition Expo 2027 will be held on June 10–11 in Belgrade. This meeting will be the largest diplomatic gathering in Serbia, with representatives from about 140 countries expected to attend.
The event aims to familiarize participating countries with the Expo’s plan and program to help them prepare their pavilions. Unlike typical construction site tours of flat meadows, participants will visit an actively progressing Expo construction site.
Expo 2027, scheduled for May 15 to August 15, 2027, will run for 93 days and mark the first international exhibition in the Western Balkans, making it Serbia’s largest-ever global event. The exhibition’s theme is “Game(s) for Humanity: Sport and Music for All”, focusing on universality, cooperation, creativity, and development through play.
The Expo site will span 25 hectares and consist of three program areas. The theme’s inclusiveness was a major factor in Serbia winning the bid against cities from Spain, Thailand, Argentina and the USA.
