President discusses strengthening Serbia-Iran relations with Minister of Telecommunications

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić met with Iran’s Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Sayed Satar Hashemi, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, following the confirmation of Iran’s participation in Expo 2027. Vučić thanked Hashemi for the letter from Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian confirming the country’s involvement in the upcoming Expo.

The two leaders explored opportunities to strengthen ties across various sectors, including energy, health tourism, agriculture and the ICT industry. Vučić highlighted the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation in Information Technologies, which aims to foster innovation in telecommunications, digital skills, information security and data center development.

President Vučić also expressed gratitude to Iran for its unwavering support of Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, emphasizing Iran’s commitment to international law.
