President hosts European Council president, highlights Serbia’s strong EU trade relations

The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, hosted the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, who is on an official visit to Serbia.

“The EU is the most important partner for us. We have a record trade exchange with the European Union of 53 billion euros. Our exports account for 52 percent of the total export from the Western Balkans to the EU. It is important that 4 out of the 10 largest exporters from our country are EU investors,” said Vučić.

“What is important is that we diversify our exports to other EU countries, not just Germany, Italy, Romania, and Hungary,” Vučić added.

The President emphasized that Serbia’s largest foreign trade partner is Germany.

“Our largest foreign trade partner is Germany,” Vučić stated.
