The past week on the Novi Sad Product Exchange saw an increase in the prices of corn, wheat and mineral fertilizers. However, due to a national holiday and limited supply of primary agricultural crops, turnover decreased compared to the previous week.

A total of 2,199 tons of goods were traded, a 46.04% decrease from the previous week, with a financial value of 58,175,700 dinars, reflecting a 50.11% decline. The week began with increased demand for corn, pushing prices higher due to limited supply. This trend continued throughout the week, with exporters showing the most interest in corn with aflatoxin levels up to 15 percent, while domestic processors were less active. Supply mostly consisted of corn without aflatoxin analysis, which led to no trading at CPT port parity.

Exchange contracts for corn were concluded between 20.60 din/kg and 21.70 din/kg, with a weighted average of 21.24 din/kg (23.36 din/kg including VAT), marking a 1.98% increase from the previous week’s price. Corn accounted for 59% of the total weekly turnover.

The wheat market saw weak supply, with price discrepancies and differences in offered and requested goods making contract conclusion difficult. Buyers were primarily interested in bread grain with 11-11.5% protein content. Wheat exchange contracts ranged from 24.30 din/kg to 24.70 din/kg, with a weighted average of 24.59 din/kg (27.05 din/kg including VAT), representing a slight increase of 0.23% compared to the previous week.

Soybeans continued their negative price trend, with low demand causing sellers to lower prices. Despite this, soybean contracts were not finalized during the week.

Farmers were also focused on nitrogen fertilizers and mixed fertilizers, which are crucial for winter crop feeding. The prices of these fertilizers have been increasing daily. Exchange contracts were concluded for NPK 15:15:15 at 54.07 din/kg (460 euros per ton) and NPK 16:16:16 at 56.43 din/kg (480 euros per ton). Granulated UREA in jumbo bags was traded at 56.41 din/kg (480 euros per ton) under CPT buyer parity.
