Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević met with representatives of the Chinese company “Zijin”, which operates in the Bor and Majdanpek regions. During the meeting, Vučević expressed confidence that the company would continue using the latest methods of mining while prioritizing worker safety, health and environmental protection.
According to a press release from the government, the Prime Minister discussed future investments and business plans in Serbia with the company’s representatives, emphasizing that Zijin’s investment is one of the most significant for the country.
Vučević expressed his satisfaction with Zijin’s ongoing investments in Serbia and welcomed the company’s announcement that it would relocate its International Business Center to Serbia. He congratulated the company on its impressive global achievements and highlighted Serbia’s position as the second-largest copper producer in Europe.
The Zijin delegation was led by Vice President Chen Jinh, who affirmed the company’s commitment to expanding operations and investments in Serbia. One of their key goals is to make Serbia the top copper producer in Europe.
Chen also stated that moving the International Business Center to Serbia would make the country, alongside China, a major business hub for the company.
