The Secretariat for Urbanism and Construction Affairs has announced a public presentation for the Urban Development Project determining the public interest in the construction of the BG train station at Karaburma, along with the related railway infrastructure in the Palilula municipality.

The BG Voz currently operates four lines (Line 1 Batajnica-Ovča, Line 2 Resnik-Ovča, Line 5 Mladenovac-Ovča, and Line 6 Lazarevac-Ovča). The plan includes the introduction of Line 3 BG Voz, connecting Makiš through a tunnel under Cerak to the Pančevo Bridge, and the establishment of the Karaburma station. The project also involves upgrading the railway infrastructure in Makiš to connect with the planned Line 1 of the Belgrade Metro.

The Urban Development Project aims to establish the planning framework for the construction of the BG train station at Karaburma, along with the railway line from the Vračar tunnel to the new station. The project area includes public land and railway infrastructure, covering about 10.9 hectares, with a focus on constructing the station, tracks, and necessary infrastructure for smooth railway operations.

The station will include three platforms, each approximately 220 meters long, with necessary facilities like passenger lifts, stairs, and shelters. The station will also provide parking for staff and users, along with connections to public transport lines and future tram routes. It is designed to integrate with the Belgrade Metro project, with plans for underground pedestrian connections between the BG Voz and Metro stations.

The project is being overseen by Serbia Railways Infrastructure, with the Traffic Institute CIP handling the design. The public presentation will take place at the City Administration building from February 25 to March 5, 2025, every weekday from 9 AM to 3 PM.
