During 2024, Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) reported expenses exceeding revenues by approximately 310.3 million dinars (around 2.65 million euros), marking an improvement from the 423.5 million dinars deficit recorded in 2023, according to N1 television.
RTS’s total revenues for the year reached 15.7 billion dinars (just under 134 million euros), with the majority—11.2 billion dinars—generated from subscription fees paid by citizens and businesses.
On the expenditure side, the public broadcaster recorded over 15.87 billion dinars in operational costs. When financial expenses of 70.2 million dinars, value adjustment losses of 391,000 dinars, and additional costs of 54.37 million dinars are included, the total expenses approached 16 billion dinars.
Breakdown of specific costs in 2024 includes 90.77 million dinars for basic materials, 52.87 million dinars for overhead materials, 76.66 million dinars for spare parts, and 49.75 million dinars for tools and inventory.
Fuel expenses amounted to 50 million dinars, while electricity costs reached 279.3 million dinars.
Depreciation costs totaled 1.9 billion dinars for the year.
RTS allocated about 4.64 billion dinars for gross wages and salary compensations. Additionally, 198.36 million dinars were paid in jubilee awards, and 70.9 million dinars were used for retirement severance packages, N1 reported.
