Speaking at the presentation of USAID’s annual survey of 1,000 businesses in Serbia in Belgrade on Wednesday, Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) President Marko Cadez said it was good that real GDP growth had primarily been driven by growth in investments and exports.

When we talk about the economic situation, the difference in comparison to previous years is that the past year and a half saw growth, despite the implementation of major savings and fiscal consolidation, which is rare in the world today, he said, adding that no sustainable growth could be achieved without the private sector and SMEs.

Concerning dissatisfaction about access to funding sources, Cadez said that the PKS was working with USAID to reduce the problem.
“Our priority is to have the problem of funding and other obstacles pointed to by businessmen minimized or removed,” he said.
