Children’s pool and recreation area
The municipality is working on a large-scale project to develop a family-friendly recreational complex, covering approximately two hectares. The main focus is on creating multiple children’s pools, each tailored to different age groups. The complex will feature an aqua park with slides, playgrounds, a children’s stage and areas for entertainment and animation. Emphasis will be placed on safety and using cutting-edge materials and technologies. The objective is to turn this complex into a popular destination for local families and visitors from nearby areas, significantly enhancing Senta’s tourism appeal.
Utilizing geothermal resources for wellness
Senta plans to leverage its geothermal potential in the development of the complex. A hydrothermal well located in the National Garden will be equipped to supply thermal water. This water, at 57°C, has a flow rate of 25 liters per second and contains high methane levels, which must be reduced for safety. A degassing system will be installed to ensure the water is safe for use. With sulphurous properties, the water has therapeutic potential, which will be incorporated into the complex’s wellness and spa offerings.
Revitalizing Brekeke lake
The National Garden’s Brekeke Lake is set to undergo a major transformation into a thermal swimming and decorative lake. This renovation will provide visitors with a natural water experience. The lake will be divided into two sections: one dedicated to relaxation and rehabilitation, while the other will feature slides and other active recreational activities.
Features of the complex
The new complex will include a variety of amenities such as a park, promenade, reception area, ticket offices, changing rooms, and equipment rental. Indoor pools with water attractions, a spa with saunas and hydromassage pools, adrenaline slides, children’s pools, a sandy beach, playgrounds, and multiple sports and entertainment zones will be part of the complex. The design aims to create a year-round destination with both indoor and outdoor offerings, positioning Senta as a major national bathing hub. Future developments may include accommodations, a retirement home, and a rehabilitation center.
Strategic goals
The municipality is focused on building a one-of-a-kind, modern bathing complex that will exceed local needs. The project is designed to elevate Senta’s tourist offering, attract visitors from across the country, and contribute to the region’s economic development. The municipality expects to gain support from the Provincial Government during both the planning and implementation phases. The projects were presented to Maja Gojković, the President of the Provincial Government, during her recent visit to Senta.
