Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Dragan Glamočić met with Wang Lingjun, Deputy Minister of China’s General Administration of Customs, to discuss enhancing phytosanitary and veterinary cooperation and advancing the implementation of protocols allowing Serbian agricultural products to be exported to China.
Glamočić emphasized Serbia’s appreciation for China’s support in food safety and agricultural trade, highlighting recently signed protocols on exporting fresh apples, blueberries, dried plums, and milk, which open new opportunities for Serbian agriculture.
The meeting reinforced the strong strategic partnership between Serbia and China, grounded in mutual respect and guided by the commitments of Presidents Aleksandar Vučić and Xi Jinping. Both sides agreed on the need to accelerate administrative procedures and strengthen technical cooperation to facilitate Serbian exports to the Chinese market.
New areas of cooperation were discussed, including potential exports of fresh cherries, pears, truffles, and poultry and dairy products. Plans were made for a Serbian agricultural delegation to visit China soon to promote effective implementation of agreements.
The visit aims to deepen the strategic partnership and yield tangible results in agrarian cooperation, with the Chinese delegation also expected to explore Serbia’s agricultural potential firsthand.
The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere at the Palace of Serbia, attended by Chinese Ambassador Li Ming.
