Serbia and Georgia have officially signed an Air Traffic Agreement, establishing the first direct airline connection between Belgrade and Tbilisi. The inaugural flight by Serbia’s national carrier, Air Serbia, is scheduled for June 15.

Aleksandra Sofronijević, Serbia’s Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, highlighted that this agreement marks a new chapter in the political, economic, and cultural relations between the two countries. She emphasized that this will be the first regular nonstop connection between the two capitals, facilitating easier travel for their citizens.

Celebrating 30 years of diplomatic relations, Minister Sofronijević described the flight as a symbolic bridge connecting the peoples of Serbia and Georgia. She expressed Serbia’s ambition to be a country of bridges — not only in infrastructure but also politically, economically, and culturally — with this airline agreement serving as a prime example.
