Construction Minister Tomislav Momirovic and Hungarian Innovation Minister Laszlo Palkovic agreed to speed up the reconstruction of the Subotica-Szeged railway, about 27 kilometers long.
It is one of the priority projects envisaged by the Framework Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation between the governments of Hungary and Serbia in the field of infrastructure projects.
The ministers, who discussed co-operation between the two countries in the field of infrastructure and construction, also agreed to appoint “liaison officers”, as well as to create a permanent team of two ministries to implement this extremely important project to connect the two friendly countries.
“Serbia and Hungary are currently connected by several large projects, the most important of which is the construction, modernization and reconstruction of the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed railway. But we must not forget the very important section Subotica-Szeged, which is a lifeline connecting the two largest cities in that region, two local communities that have had excellent, friendly and business contacts for centuries “, Momirovic emphasized, 021 reports.
