Serbia and Montenegro plan to apply for funds for motorway that will connect the two countries

Serbia’s Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic met  with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Igor Luksic to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation, especially in the construction of infrastructure projects.

The officials concluded that the relations between the two countries are very good, noting that there is room for improvement in the area of economic cooperation.

Vucic expressed his gratitude to the government of Montenegro for its help during the recent floods that hit Serbia.
During the meeting, they also discussed the exchange of experiences and mutual support in the process of European integration and reached an agreement that the two countries jointly apply for EU funds.

The two countries will apply for funds for the construction of a motorway that will connect Serbia and Montenegro, as well as for the reconstruction of the Belgrade-Bar railway, Vucic and Luksic agreed.

The officials discussed the issues of improving regional cooperation and strengthening of trust between the countries of South Eastern Europe.
