Serbia and Bavaria have excellent economic co-operation, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said in Munich after meeting with Florian Herman, Minister of State at the Government of Bavaria for Federal and European Affairs, pointing out that German companies from Bavaria provide 20,000 jobs, out of the total of 60,000 in German companies in our country.
Brnabic said that the most famous and largest Bavarian companies Siemens, Leoni and Drakselmayer were working in Serbia, and announced that two more companies from that German province would invest in Serbia – MTU and Brose.
The Prime Minister added that at today’s meeting they also stated that the Joint Commission Serbia – Bavaria is the oldest mixed commission that Bavaria has with any country and the oldest mixed commission that Serbia has with any country. She said that this year will mark the 50th anniversary of the Joint Commission Serbia-Bavaria, and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce will mark it in such a way that it will organize a business forum Serbia-Bavaria in the Bavarian Parliament on March 6th. The Prime Minister stated that one of the important topics at the meeting, initiated by Herman, was digitization.
– They said that Serbia has done the most in the digitization and maybe in the whole of Europe and that it would be interesting to work together in this field – digitization, artificial intelligence, which I accepted with pleasure – said Brnabic.
She added that they have agreed to work on an agreement in the field of digitization and e-government by the end of June, when the visit of Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Zeder is expected in Serbia, with which the prime minister will have dinner at the Munich Security Conference. At the meeting with Herman, according to the Prime Minister, they discussed the European integration of Serbia and the help that our country receives from Germany in this regard, as well as regional cooperation and integration, Srbija Danas writes.
