Fiat has once again delayed the launch of the much-anticipated Grande Panda model, originally slated for release by the end of this year. Reports from Italy indicate that the first orders for the Grande Panda will now be accepted in January 2025, with deliveries expected to begin only in June 2025 — nearly a year after its official unveiling in Kragujevac.
While initial rumors suggested delays due to complications with the vehicle’s electronic systems, other sources imply the cause may lie elsewhere. Additionally, the pricing for both the hybrid and electric versions of the Grande Panda remains undisclosed for the Italian and Serbian markets. The hybrid model, featuring a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged mild hybrid engine producing 101 horsepower, is expected to be priced under 19,000 euros. Meanwhile, the electric version, with a 113-horsepower engine and a 44kWh battery, is projected to cost around 25,000 euros (without subsidies).
As the saying goes, “nothing new from Kragujevac” — a reflection of the ongoing delays and shifting promises, reminiscent of the film Marathoners and its iconic line, “In January you said the hunt (Grande Panda) in April, a year has passed since that promise.”
