March 2024: Average net salary in Serbia rises, regional disparities persist

In March 2024, the average net salary stood at 96,913 dinars, excluding taxes and contributions, while the median net earnings were 72,979 dinars, indicating that half of the employees earned up to this amount.

Compared to the same period last year, the average net salary saw a nominal increase of 14.9 percent or 8.7 percent in real terms during January-March 2024.

In March 2024, the average net salary rose by 13.4 percent nominally and 8 percent in real terms compared to the previous year.

The Belgrade region reported the highest average net earnings in March, reaching 124,118 dinars. Meanwhile, in Vojvodina, the average net salary stood at 92,050 dinars, followed by 81,826 dinars in the Southern and Eastern Serbia region, and 80,013 dinars in the Å umadija and Western Serbia region.
