Air Serbia celebrated a major milestone, as the national carrier transported its four millionth passenger of 2024. This achievement comes nearly a month earlier than last year’s record, when the four millionth passenger was recorded on December 13.

Jirži Marek, General Director of Air Serbia, highlighted the airline’s continued growth, noting that the company had implemented a number of service improvements throughout the year. These include the renewal of its regional fleet and the addition of a third wide-body Airbus A330-200 aircraft, featuring the EXPO 2027 livery.

“During the first ten and a half months of 2024, Air Serbia has carried out numerous initiatives aimed at further enhancing passenger services. We have expanded our fleet and continued to grow our network of destinations,” said Marek. In addition to launching new flights to Guangzhou, Nice and Mostar, the airline announced plans for direct flights to Shanghai, Ibiza, Mykonos, and Sardinia in 2025.

Marek also expressed optimism for the remainder of the year, noting that the airline is on track to exceed last year’s total of 4.19 million passengers. “With the New Year holidays approaching, a time of high travel demand, we are ready to welcome 2025 with the same commitment to service excellence,” he added.

In addition to its main hub at Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport, Air Serbia also operates flights from Morava Airport near Kraljevo and Konstantin Veliki Airport in Niš. The airline’s fleet is one of the youngest in the region, consisting of three Airbus A330-200s, three Airbus A320-200s, ten Airbus A319-100s, ten ATR 72-600s, and one Embraer E-195.

Air Serbia was recently recognized at the 50th annual Air Transport World (ATW) awards in Dubai, where it was inducted into the ATW Hall of Fame for its achievements in air transport.
