Air Serbia reported carrying 548,009 passengers in regular traffic in July 2024, marking a 7.2% increase compared to the same month last year.
The Serbian national airline operated 5,203 flights from Belgrade, Nišand Kraljevo airports, which represents a 6.8% rise in flights to regular destinations compared to July 2023.
BoÅ¡ko Rupić, Air Serbia’s Director of Commercial and Strategy, stated that for the first seven months of 2024, the airline transported 2,427,811 passengers on both regular and charter flights, reflecting a 9.26% increase from the previous year. Rupić noted that while charter traffic saw a slight decline in both passenger numbers and flights, largely due to decreased interest in certain destinations amid geopolitical events, the expansion of regular destinations contributed to overall growth.
The most popular destinations for Air Serbia in July included Valencia, Malaga, and Palma de Mallorca in Western Europe, with Larnaca, Heraklion, Istanbul, Izmir, Corfu, and Rhodes being top choices in the Euro-Mediterranean region. Notably, there was strong demand for flights to Tianjin, China.
