Lafarge BFC Srbija is planning to establish a cement production facility in Obrenovac that will utilize ash from power plant waste. Dimitrije Knjeginjić, the company’s director, revealed that the initial investment for the project will amount to 110 million EUR.
According to Knjeginjić, this new production facility will benefit both Serbia and its economy. Environmentally, it will address the issue of power plant ash, making it a significant ecological improvement.
“The aim of Lafarge BFC is for Obrenovac to become a key hub for Serbia and neighboring countries in the production of building materials from ash,” Knjeginjić said during a meeting with Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević. The meeting also included discussions with Miljan Gutović, director of Holcim Group, about new developments in the construction materials sector.
