Serbia’s Minister without Portfolio, Đorđe Milićević, stated in Bruneck, at the Economic Forum organized by the Association of Serbian Entrepreneurs in Switzerland, that the event reaffirms the mutual commitment to connecting people from the diaspora with the homeland, as well as fostering cooperation that brings mutual benefits to both overseas entrepreneurs and Serbia.
“Serbia today is a country recognized for its economic stability, investment growth, and numerous reforms that facilitate business operations and encourage the return of our citizens,” said Milićević, as reported by Beta News Agency. According to the Ministry, Milićević emphasized that these steps form the foundation for the further development of the economy, while also creating opportunities for Serbian entrepreneurs in the diaspora to better connect with the homeland and contribute to its prosperity.
The Minister highlighted the importance of cooperation with the Republic of Srpska (RS) and stressed that by opening new markets, Serbia could strengthen its position in Europe and the world. Additionally, creating new jobs would provide young people and returnees with opportunities to be employed and develop their careers in their own country.
He also mentioned sectors such as digitalization, the IT industry, agriculture, renewable energy and tourism as areas for further development. “All of these fields require skilled labor and can serve as motivating factors for young professionals to return to their home country,” Milićević added.
