President Aleksandar Vučić stated that he expects the average salary in Serbia to reach €1,200 by December 2026, while stressing that the country must not slow down its progress. Speaking during an appearance on TV Happy, Vučić emphasized that maintaining momentum is crucial to Serbia’s future development.

“What worries me is that we don’t stop now. We cannot afford to halt our growth just because someone sees an opportunity for something else. I won’t be able to look people in the eye if we aren’t ready to meet our goals by December 2026,” Vučić said, underlining the importance of continuing the country’s advancement.

Vučić highlighted that Serbia no longer has cheap labor, with the minimum wage now nearly 54,000 dinars. He pointed out that maintaining Serbia’s European path remains a priority, but so does preserving strong relationships with Russia and China, with whom the country shares excellent ties.

“We must continue developing, stay on our European path, and make sure we maintain good relations with Russia and China. At the same time, it’s equally important that we have strong relations with the U.S. and Europe. If we can manage this balanced approach, I will push for it as long as possible,” Vučić explained.

Additionally, Vučić confirmed that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is expected to visit Serbia by the end of the year, signaling further diplomatic engagement.
