The Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) has opened new offices in China, specifically in Beijing and Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, following the recent signing of a Free Trade Agreement. PKS President Marko Čadež emphasized that these offices will serve as crucial support centers for Serbian companies looking to enter or expand their business in the Chinese market.
“We previously established a representative office in Shanghai four years ago. Now, with the Free Trade Agreement between Serbia and China, we have unlocked significant opportunities for our products and collaborations with Chinese firms,” Čadež stated.
During his visit to Beijing, Čadež met with prominent figures from the Communist Party of China, Zhuoqun Wang and Linda Wang, to discuss potential economic cooperation.
He highlighted the upcoming regional wine fair, “Wine Vision by Open Balkan,” set to take place in Belgrade this November, which will see the participation of over 40 Chinese buyers. This event aims to enhance the visibility of Serbian winemakers in the Chinese market.
In Beijing, Čadež engaged with representatives from eight Chinese companies, exploring avenues for collaboration. Notably, discussions with officials from China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) and Fortune 500 companies focused on joint projects for “EXPO 2027” and the exchange of knowledge and technology.
Čadež also visited Chongqing, where he held discussions with various businesses. Among the topics covered was a new modular system for wastewater treatment, which can be constructed in just two months and requires significantly less space—20 times less than previous solutions.
