According to the latest report from the Republic Statistical Office (RZS), industrial production in Serbia declined by 1.1% in May compared to May 2023, and was 1.9% lower compared to the average of last year. However, for the period of January to May this year, industrial production increased by 2% compared to the same period in 2023.
The current seasonally adjusted index for May 2024 showed an overall growth of 2.7% compared to the previous month, with manufacturing seeing a 2.1% increase. In specific sectors, mining saw a notable rise of 28.9% compared to May last year. On the other hand, manufacturing declined by 2%, and the supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning decreased by 9.1% during the same period.
These figures highlight the varied performance across different sectors of Serbia’s industrial economy in recent months.
