From January to July this year, Serbia recorded an impressive €1.5 billion in revenue from foreign visitors, surpassing the total earnings from all of 2019 within just seven months. Uroš Kandić, State Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Youth, shared this news in a statement to Beta, noting a 16% increase in foreign exchange inflows compared to the same period last year and nearly 10% higher than the entire year of 2019.

According to the latest September barometer from the World Tourism Organization, this remarkable growth places Serbia among the global leaders in the recovery of tourism income, with figures more than doubling since the pandemic. Kandić highlighted that tourism plays a crucial role in Serbia’s service export sector, contributing to about 20% of total service exports.
