Oil Industry of Serbia NIS boosts investments by 111%, reports strong financial and production performance in H1 2024

The Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS) made significant investments in the first half of this year, amounting to RSD 24.4 billion, marking a 111 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023. The NIS Group reported a net profit of 5.3 billion dinars and an EBITDA of 22.8 billion dinars. Their calculated liabilities for taxes and other public revenues totaled 118.1 billion dinars.

In terms of production, NIS achieved a total volume of 575,000 conditional tons of oil and gas. The processing volume of crude oil and semi-products was 1.4 million tons, with a total turnover volume of oil derivatives reaching 1.65 million tons.

A notable development in their energy transition efforts includes the construction of a solar photovoltaic power plant at the Jazak drinking water plant, boasting a total power of 620 kWp and a project value exceeding half a million euros.

NIS emphasized the importance of ensuring the supply of all types of oil derivatives during the capital overhaul of the Pancevo refinery, which is noted as the most complex in the refinery’s history. Additionally, the company continued to invest significantly in the exploration and production of oil and gas, as well as the modernization of its retail network.
