In the previous year, Serbia imported an estimated 4.8 million tons of coal, marking a 70 percent increase compared to the 2.8 million tons imported in 2022.

Electricity production for the current year is projected to reach 40,585 gigawatt-hours (GWh), which is one percentage point higher than the estimated production of the previous year.

Despite this increase, the total electricity generated in Serbia is anticipated to fall short of domestic demands. Therefore, the country plans to import 6,401 GWh of electricity, reflecting a 19 percent rise from the estimated imports in 2023.

Conversely, exports, including transit, are targeted at 8,050 GWh in 2024, representing a ten percent increase compared to previous levels.
