In Serbia, a new wave of digital services has been introduced as part of the eGovernment initiative, encompassing 27 services managed by the Ministry of Mining and Energy. These services, particularly focused on renewable energy sources, aim to streamline the process for businesses seeking permits and approvals in the energy and environmental sectors, the ministry announced.
The launch event for these digital services was attended by Dubravka Đedović Handanović, Minister of Mining and Energy, Irena Vujović, Minister of Environmental Protection and Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the EBRD.
Minister Handanović highlighted the successful implementation of digital and transparent procedures, such as auctions for market premiums in renewable energy sources. She emphasized the importance of extending this digital approach to other critical procedures essential for the economy and investors.
She also underscored that digitalization will facilitate swift communication with governmental bodies, replacing the previous delays of several days or weeks for document handling with automated processes.
