Turkish Fortis Energy acquires major solar power project in Serbia

Turkish company Fortis Energy has acquired a project to build a 180 megawatt solar power plant in Sremska Mitrovica, according to eKapija. This solar power plant is set to be one of the largest in Southeast Europe with integrated storage capacity.

Construction of the plant is anticipated to commence in 2025. Fortis Energy, which has been actively involved in Serbia, is also working on wind farm projects in Jagodina, Vranje, and Petrovac, all scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.

Additionally, Fortis Energy announced in May that it is finalizing the purchase of two biogas power plants located in Pančevo.
