Elektroprivreda Srbije has issued a public tender for ongoing geological exploration to support the expansion of the Drmno surface mine, aiming to increase its capacity to 12 million tons of coal.
The project involves drilling 122 boreholes, totaling 14,570 meters of drilling.
The objective of these explorations is to provide the necessary data for the preparation of the upcoming “Coal Reserves Report,” which will guide the development of mining project plans and investment documentation for continued operations at the mine.
The surveys will be conducted over a two-year period and will extend in the direction of the mine’s advancement from the current work area to the Danube River to the north.
The exploration will take place in the Drmno coal deposit, part of the Kostolac coal basin, located 50 kilometers southeast of Belgrade.
The estimated cost of the project, excluding VAT, is 187,434,840 dinars.
The public tender will remain open until September 10.
