Marko ÄŒadež, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS), has heralded the start of production for the electric car “Fiat Grande Panda” in Kragujevac as one of the most pivotal events for the Serbian economy in recent decades.

ÄŒadež emphasized that the arrival of the “electric panda” represents a significant advancement in technology and knowledge, marking a revolutionary shift in the eMobility sector for Serbia. He noted that this development positions Serbia as one of the few countries globally involved in electric vehicle manufacturing, promising to elevate both Kragujevac and the broader Serbian economy to new heights.

According to ÄŒadež, Serbia’s automotive industry is already a major player, employing thousands and contributing significantly to exports, particularly with “i-mobility” products to Germany. He highlighted that the impact of this project extends beyond GDP growth and investment, signaling a transformative step towards the future of the Serbian economy.

ÄŒadež also underscored the importance of Serbia’s recent free trade agreements with China and Egypt, and the strategic raw materials memorandum with the EU. These agreements, he noted, will ensure that Serbia adheres to European standards in environmental protection, consumer safety, and other critical areas.

In addition, Čadež pointed out that the upcoming Olympic Games in France will further boost the Serbian economy. The PKS, in collaboration with the Serbian Government and other partners, will host a business forum in Paris to foster collaboration between Serbian and French companies, enhancing opportunities for domestic businesses.

Overall, the launch of the “Fiat Grand Panda” is seen as a transformative development for Serbia, positioning the country as a significant player in the electric vehicle sector and paving the way for future economic advancements.
