The Supervisory Board of Addiko Bank Serbia has appointed Srđan Kondić as the new Chairman of the Executive Board, pending approval from the National Bank of Serbia. Kondić’s term begins on October 1, 2024, and will last for the next four years. He takes over from Vojislav Lazarević, who will now serve as the Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

Prior to this role, Srđan Kondić was the CEO of Addiko Bank Banja Luka. He brings nearly two decades of experience in the banking sector, including work with regulatory bodies and the Banking Agency of the Republic of Srpska. He also holds an academic position as a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Banja Luka, along with a doctorate in economic sciences.

Kondić has successfully led some of the most prominent banks in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including Nova Banka and Addiko Bank Banja Luka. Under his leadership, Addiko Bank Banja Luka became the most successful bank in the Addiko Group, achieving record results in its 52-year history. He has been instrumental in guiding banks through comprehensive changes, digital transformations, and enhancing their market positions. His extensive experience has helped identify growth opportunities in the domestic market, aligning with modern standards. He has been recognized as an outstanding banker, with Addiko Bank Banja Luka receiving multiple awards in various business segments during his tenure.

“Addiko Bank Serbia is now in an excellent position to capitalize on existing opportunities and market potential with our most ambitious initiative yet—a program for intensive growth and organizational strengthening. Building on the successes of our previous efforts and the transformations we have already implemented, I am confident we have everything needed to achieve this goal—a talented team that understands our clients and the market dynamics, embraces digital and AI innovations, and is dedicated to contributing to the overall development of the Serbian market,” Kondić stated.

During the past six and a half years, under Vojislav Lazarević’s leadership, Addiko Bank established itself as a specialized bank in the Serbian market, offering enhanced digital banking solutions for consumers and small to medium-sized enterprises, while also achieving strong results.

“After 25 years of active work in the banking market, both in Serbia and Europe, where I participated in various activities such as opening, restructuring, and buying and selling banks, I decided it is time for new challenges. However, I will remain part of the Addiko team, which I highly respect, as the Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board, as I believe my knowledge and experience can still contribute to its success both in the Serbian market and within the Group,” said Vojislav Lazarević regarding the announced changes.

According to Herbert Juranek, Chairman of the Executive Board of Addiko Group, Srđan Kondić’s appointment is a logical step. “Srđan’s leadership, dedication, and exceptional results in Banja Luka make him the perfect choice to continue leading Addiko Bank in Serbia. We are confident that under his leadership, Addiko Bank Serbia will drive market innovations and strengthen its reputation as a specialized bank, particularly in areas where it offers the most advanced solutions—namely, consumer financing and small to medium-sized enterprises. At the same time, we would like to sincerely thank the outgoing Chairman Vojislav Lazarević for his dedication and leadership during his time at the helm of the bank. I am pleased he will remain part of the Addiko team as the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Addiko Bank Serbia,” Juranek concluded.
