Liu Shaoqien, the general director of Power China for Eurasia, expressed great honor during the inauguration of the bypass around Gornji Milanovac, emphasizing the company’s commitment to projects that foster economic development in Serbia. He underscored the importance of continued cooperation between China and Serbia.
During the ceremony, Shaoqien thanked all involved in the construction of the bypass, particularly Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and the Serbian government. He praised both the Serbian and Chinese teams for their contributions to the project, stating, “It is a great honor for Power China to play a role in Serbia’s economic growth, and I am optimistic about our long-term collaboration.”
He described the completion of the bypass as a significant milestone in Gornji Milanovac’s infrastructure, essential for enhancing regional economic development, improving logistics, and bolstering the city’s reputation. “We believe this will become a bridge that connects dreams and opportunities,” he stated.
The bypass project involved constructing a new road from Gornji Milanovac to Klatičevo, measuring 4.78 kilometers, along with the reconstruction of an existing 4.70-kilometer state road from Klatičevo to Takovo, with a total project value of 30.5 million euros.
With the new bypass, transit traffic has been effectively separated from local traffic, diverting it from the city center and directly linking the municipality to the “Miloš Veliki” highway, alleviating congestion in the area.
Construction commenced following the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Construction, Civil Engineering, and Infrastructure and Power China at the end of 2021, with the Traffic Institute CIP overseeing the project.
The inauguration was attended by President Vučić, Minister of Construction, Transport, and Infrastructure Goran Vesić, Chinese Ambassador Li Ming, and Gornji Milanovac Municipality President Dejan Kovačević.
