The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Goran Vesić, announced that the Moravian Corridor is set to be completed by the end of 2025. He emphasized the corridor’s importance for over half a million citizens. In response to a question from Social Democratic Party deputy Branimir Jovanović, Vesić stated that the section from Koševo to Vrnjačka Banja will be finished by the end of this year, with the Preljina to Adrano segment expected to be completed by June 1 of next year. The final stretch from Kraljevo to Vrnjačka Banja will also be finalized by the end of next year.

Vesić mentioned that work was originally planned only up to Trstenik this year, but protests had been resolved, allowing contractors to proceed. He expressed confidence that the Preljina to Adrano section would be completed by June 1, which would facilitate the connection to Kraljevo.

He reiterated the goal of completing the entire 112-kilometer highway, linking the Belgrade-Niš highway with the “Miloš Veliki” route, noting its significance as one of the country’s major roads.

Additionally, Vesić highlighted ongoing projects, including the construction of the “Smile of Vojvodina” and the highway through Banat, alongside plans for a high-speed road to Vršac. He emphasized the importance of the fast road “Karađorđe,” which will connect Mladenovac, Topola, Aranđelovac, and Lazarevac, enhancing regional connectivity, attracting investments and promoting tourism.

The high-speed road connecting Kraljevo and Novi Pazar is still in the design phase, with completion expected in the second half of 2026. Vesić pointed out that this road will significantly improve access for residents from northern Kosovo and Metohija.

He announced plans for community presentations in Novi Pazar and Raška after the road design is completed, which will help local residents understand the project’s route and its potential to enhance local heritage access, including significant historical sites.

Furthermore, Vesić mentioned the nearing completion of the renovation design for the Stalać-Kraljevo-Rudnica railway line, which will extend to Novi Pazar. He also confirmed the construction of a long-awaited ring road around Novi Pazar.

Regarding the eight-kilometer road from Vrnjačka Banja to Goč, Vesić stated that while the state has completed part of the reconstruction, further plans are not set for this year. He acknowledged the importance of connecting Goč for tourism, mentioning that a gondola will also be built.

On the topic of a roundabout in Kraljevo to alleviate traffic congestion, Vesić indicated that while state support could be possible, local governments also need to take initiative. He noted that next year, plans include the reconstruction of 2,000 kilometers of local roads, which will require significant funding, and urged municipalities to invest in their own infrastructure projects.
