Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated during a visit to the Fruška Gora construction site that the Fruškogorski Corridor will be completed in two years.
He highlighted that work is ongoing in three shifts, with even Chinese workers continuing during the Chinese New Year without taking a break. “We have already excavated 4,940 meters, and in total, seven kilometers are being worked on across two tunnels. Each side will have a 3.5-kilometer stretch. This will be the longest tunnel in Serbia, beneath Fruška Gora. By September next year, it will be fully open and connected to Ruma, and then we’ll continue through Paragovo to Petrovaradin. We plan to complete everything, including the new Novi Sad Bridge and the connection to Kovilj, by December 2026. In exactly two years, the entire Fruškogorski Corridor will be opened,” Vučić said in a video posted on social media.
