The Minister of Tourism and Youth, Husein Memić, announced that Serbia anticipates around 110,000 tourists during the New Year holidays. The most popular destinations remain Belgrade, Zlatibor and Kopaonik, a trend that has been consistent in recent years.

Foreign tourists often choose Belgrade for New Year’s Eve, while many head to Zlatibor and Kopaonik to enjoy winter sports. Domestic tourists favor Zlatibor, where last year 50,000 visitors were recorded, with even higher numbers expected this year due to growing interest.

Memić also highlighted the ministry’s efforts to combat unregistered accommodation. Discussions are underway with the Booking.com platform to ensure only registered properties are advertised. This move, supported by the Ministry of Finance, would require accommodation providers to list their unique registration number in the E-tourist system.
