The President of the Assembly of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, stated last night that he expects that the result of the visit of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to Moscow will be that we will have the most favorable gas price in Europe.
– I expect we’ll get a friendly price. It will certainly, due to the energy situation in the world, be significantly higher than it is now, but I expect it to be more favorable than for others – he said.
According to him, that expectation is also based on the promises that the Russian side gave in talks with Serbian officials in the last few months.
Dacic also pointed out that the privileged price is not only connected with the friendly relations between Serbia and Russia, but also with the economic relations and joint projects that started a few years ago.
– From the previous contract, which is now expiring, it was clear how important it is to negotiate the price in the long run. Long-term contracting with Gazprom is of vital importance to us – stressed the president of the Serbian parliament.
Dacic said that, although energy will certainly be the most important topic of Aleksandar Vucic’s conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, it will not be the only one.
As he pointed out, the two presidents will also discuss the crisis in the region, the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, and the pressure on the Republika Srpska, which, according to him, was also discussed with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Blic reports.
