President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, met with Patrick Cosgrave, founder, CEO and co-owner of Web Summit, the world’s largest technology conference. Vučić described the meeting as a very important opportunity to exchange ideas on improving the technology sector in Serbia, which would contribute to the economic growth and development of the country.
“We discussed the possibility of Belgrade and Serbia hosting the Web Summit, the largest global technology conference. I highlighted the success we achieved at the last summit, where 60 Serbian innovative companies participated. I emphasized that Serbia and Belgrade have a lot to offer and can undoubtedly provide the best organization for an event that connects global politics, technology, and innovation,” Vučić wrote.
He pointed out that hosting such an event would position Serbia as a key player in the global tech landscape, while opening doors for new foreign investments, partnerships, tourism growth, and strengthening the reputation and brand of the capital city.
“This is an opportunity to secure Serbia’s future on the global stage, a rare opportunity that we must seize together,” Vučić concluded.
