Two-day “Freight Vehicle Fair” opened at Belgrade Fair, highlighting the strategic importance of international transport for Serbia’s economy. The event, also marking Serbian Transporters’ Day, is organized by the Business Association of International Road Freight Transport “International Transport,” which includes over 1,750 members, mostly Serbian companies.
Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Aleksandra Sofronijević, emphasized Serbia’s strategic geographic position as a major European transit corridor and the government’s commitment to investing in road infrastructure, digitalization, and modern transport solutions. She highlighted challenges such as restrictions on Serbian drivers in the Schengen zone following Romania and Bulgaria’s accession and called for continued dialogue to improve access to EU markets.
The fair features over 70 exhibitors showcasing modern freight vehicles and related services, including companies like Michelin Connected Solutions, MOL Serbia, Wiener Stadtische Insurance, BC Trucks, Schmitz Cargobull, and others. The event also includes presentations on innovations and solutions for the transport and logistics sector.
The initiative aims to strengthen Serbian transporters’ competitiveness, support the logistics sector, and promote Serbia as a reliable hub for international freight transport.
