Data from the website HelloWorld.rs shows that candidates in the IT industry are increasingly active on the labor market, and it can be noted that the number of applications for advertisements in November increased by 26% compared to the same month last year.
As this industry is constantly growing, so too in 2022, Serbia records a growth in the export of ICT services, which amounts to 2.5 billion euros. Salaries in the IT sector are increasing, and in August it amounted to an average of 1,600 euros, but according to the expectations and words of employers, by the end of the year that amount will be significantly higher.
Highest paying positions in IT
In the last few years, the list of the most sought-after occupations has changed, and there is an increase in interest in the positions of project and product managers, delivery managers and business developers.
According to the Puls srpska community survey conducted by the website HelloWorld.rs with the international research agency Masmi, the top 5 most sought-after positions and their average salaries are:
1. Team lead – average 2,600 euros
2. Backend Developer – average 2,200 euros
3. Product/project Manager – average 2,100 euros
4. Full-Stack Developer – average 1,600 euros
5. Frontend Developer – average 1,400 euros
Our IT experts have high incomes, and this is supported by the fact that in the salary section of the HelloWorld.rs website, where IT professionals enter their salaries, the highest amount was entered by a software engineer from Belgrade – as much as 8,500 euros.
Candidates are increasingly active on the market
In the first two quarters of 2022, the number of applications was down by 17% compared to last year. At the beginning of the third quarter, the market was recovering and the number of ads on the site was increasing, so the activity of candidates was also increasing. Candidates were more active in the month of August and applied as much as 26% more compared to the
previous year. They continue like this at the end of this year, so in November 2022, the number of applications increased by as much as 27% compared to 2021.
Also, the number of job advertisements in the IT industry is increasing, which we can conclude when we compare this year with the previous year. Specifically, the number of ads from January to November jumped by 2.5%.
