Minister of Agriculture Dragan Glamočić visited Osečina and emphasized that the government will continue to invest in sectors that bring the highest income per hectare, with the aim of directing funds toward intensive production in fruit growing, vegetable farming, and livestock.
“There is always money for investments, and there will be more. Here in Osečina, we see a true example of how knowledge and responsibility can achieve exceptional results,” Glamočić said, according to the Ministry.
He highlighted that Serbia has more than 200,000 hectares of fruit orchards, representing significant potential for exports and the development of rural areas.
“If we have a product that we can export, then that product also has value in the domestic market. This means higher earnings for producers, more revenue for the state, and new employment opportunities in the processing sector,” Glamočić stated.
The minister visited the companies Podgorina Voće and Jovanović Voće, which are engaged in the procurement, processing, and export of plums and other types of fruit.
According to the Ministry, the visit took place during a year described by both producers and experts as one of the most challenging for fruit production in recent decades, but local producers emphasized that thanks to experience, perseverance, and government support, they managed to maintain production and look forward to better times.
