The Serbian government has allocated 60 million dinars from the 2025 budget reserve for the Serbian-Chinese Industrial Park “Mihajlo Pupin” project in Belgrade, according to Nova ekonomija.
The industrial park, initiated in 2021, will be constructed in phases over an estimated 19 years. From 2020 to 2022, over 203 million dinars were spent on planning, communication strategies, and financial studies.
The park will cover more than 480 hectares in Kovilovo, Palilula municipality, on land formerly owned by the Agricultural Corporation “Belgrade” (PKB). It is located near the Danube, just after the “Mihajlo Pupin” bridge, which was built by Chinese partners.
Initially planned at 320 hectares, the Spatial Plan expanded the area to 483.5 hectares. The project’s estimated value is around 300 million euros.
The complex will include three zones:
- International commercial center: Featuring a stock exchange, logistics hubs, restaurants, shopping, and retail.
- Industrial park: The largest section, including industrial plants, warehouses, offices, residential and support facilities.
- High-tech park: Focused on office buildings for high-tech development, business spaces, restaurants, and retail.
Since the project’s announcement, the ministerial office for innovation and technological development has managed seven procurements totaling over 203 million dinars related to the park.
A dedicated working group, previously led by former ministers Nenad Popović and Tomislav Momirović, oversees contract implementation with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), Serbia’s strategic partner in the project.
