The State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Dragan Stevanovic, and the Minister of Industry of Belarus, Piotr Parkhomchik, talked today about the possibilities of intensifying economic cooperation.
Stevanovic pointed out that bilateral relations between Serbia and Belarus are developed, traditionally friendly, but that there is room for improving cooperation, especially in the trade and economic field.
He reminded that in 2020, Serbia had the lowest economic decline in relation to the whole of Europe, around one percent, and that the projections are that the real GDP in the current year will reach a growth of approximately six percent.
As he underlined, Serbia is a leader in bringing in foreign investments, and this is shown by the fact that 60% of foreign direct investments at the level of the Western Balkans region are located in our country. These are data that can encourage your side to do business and invest in Serbia, which today is an economically, politically and in every other sense a stable country with international credibility, Stevanovic said, according to a statement published on the Government’s website.
Parkhomchik explained that the delegation he leads visited Serbia on the eve of the Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, where businessmen from Belarus will present their potentials and opportunities for cooperation.
In accordance with that, the Secretary of State wished them success during the presentation, with the belief that they will make good deals at the fair.
The interlocutors expressed confidence that the stable foundations of our bilateral relations will be used even more in the coming period, especially in the economic field, eKapija reports.
