The Port Management Agency has announced a tender for the preparation of a Study for the development of infrastructure for the supply of ships with alternative fuels.
As stated in the tender specification, for economically, environmentally and socially sustainable development of river traffic in Serbia, it is necessary to ensure efficient supply of ships with alternative fuels in accordance with current regulations and current trends in technological development of the merchant fleet on inland waterways.
Among other things, the study should contain an overview of the legislative framework of Serbia and the EU related to the use of alternative fuels, the benefits of alternative fuels in inland water transport, especially from the point of view of environmental impact, then the technical and operational characteristics of the fleet that uses alternative fuels, as well as opportunities for fleet design and reconstruction (example of existing vessels on the Rhine), eKapija reports.
