Serbia is pursuing its own energy policy

The Minister of Mining and Energy, Zorana Mihajlović, said today that Serbia, as a sovereign country, independently pursues its energy policy in the interest of its citizens, and not in the interest of anyone outside Serbia.
It seems to me that Viola von Cramon, a member of the European Parliament, cannot close mines and regulate the energy sector in Germany either, and she will not be able to do that in Serbia,” the minister said in a statement.
She added that the goal is for Serbia to remain energy safe in the energy transition, not to depend on electricity imports, and for EPS to be even stronger than today and an important “player” in the regional framework.
MEPs Viola von Cramon and Petroso Kokalis told the Brussels-based Euractiv website that the EU should step up its insistence on reducing pollution in the Western Balkans, noting that “some EU aspiring countries” fail to meet prescribed air pollution standards, Novi Magazin reports.
