The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated that Serbia will invest hundreds of millions of euros in infrastructure projects in the Republika Srpska (RS) in the coming period.
After the meeting of the Council for Cooperation between Serbia and RS in Banja Luka, he said that Serbia would pay for the construction of the bridge over the Sava and with 100 million euros help the construction of 17 kilometers of highway from that bridge to Bijeljina.
“The estimated value of these works is 136 million euros, and Serbia will take over 100 million. We are thus connecting the entire region and members of different nations, as well as our Serbian people, and we have no reason to be afraid to say that,” Vucic said.
Stating that the construction of the airport in Trebinje was also discussed at the session of the Council for Cooperation between Serbia and RS, Vucic said that out of the estimated value of between 98 and 100 million euros, Serbia will directly invest between 73 and 75 million.
“It is a strategically important project for the whole of Herzegovina,” said the President of Serbia.
He also announced that Serbia would invest “millions of euros” in infrastructure projects in the municipality of Drvar in the Federation and the municipalities of Kostajnica, Dubica and Nevesinje in RS.
“It will be an example of what we will do for our people and all citizens of RS and BiH,” Vucic said.
He added that they also talked about the construction of a memorial complex in Donja Gradina.
“We want the visit to Donja Gradina to be a mandatory excursion for every child in Serbia, so that they know what we went through as people in Jasenovac, not spreading hatred towards those who founded that camp, but cultivating a culture of remembrance and taking into account important facts from our history,” said the President of Serbia, BizLife reports.
