Serbia presents opportunities for investment in the automotive, chemical and rail industry at EXPO Dubai 2020

The Development Agency of Serbia (RAS) and the entire Operational Team for the realization of Serbia’s performance at EXPO Dubai 2020, tomorrow in the Serbian Pavilion in Dubai organize the second investment conference, which will present investment opportunities in the automotive industry with a focus on electric mobility, chemical and rail industries vehicles.
The growing trend of investing in sustainable transport, e-mobility and new technologies in production in the transport sector are an opportunity for Serbia to position itself as an industrial leader in this part of Europe, and Expo Dubai is the right place to approach investors in these three sectors and establish contact for new investments, it is stated in the announcement of the Development Agency of Serbia.
The investment conference dedicated to industries is being held during the EXPO thematic week “Knowledge and Learning”, and in that spirit the conference will be opened by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, Branko Ružić.
Participants and speakers will be advisors from RAS who will present to the public the reasons and opportunities for investing in e-mobility and transport projects and the chemical industry sector in Serbia, the Mayor of Kragujevac Nikola Dasic and representatives of renowned companies in the transport and chemical sectors.
The increasingly popular topic of e-mobility and global aspirations towards sustainable development and reduction of harmful gas emissions are closely related to the automotive and rail industries, which represent what we call sustainable transport.
The growing trend of investing in e-mobility and new technologies in production in the transport sector are an area where Serbia can position itself as an industrial leader in this part of Europe, and on the other hand, the chemical industry with a long tradition is another segment that opens a large space for investment, and has a role in the pursuit of sustainable and green development both within the production processes of the sector and as a support, for example, to other industries.
The conference will also be attended by representatives of educational institutions, scientific institutes from Serbia, such as the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Chemistry, Vinca Institute, representatives of the Ministry of Dual Education and others, open to further connection and cooperation of educational and scientific system with companies and potential investors.
With an eighty-year tradition and a project value of around two billion euros from 2019, with around 43,000 jobs planned, the automotive industry in Serbia is increasingly focused on high-tech projects, electric mobility and sustainable modes of transport and technologically advanced segments of the sector.
The aim of the conference is to attract the attention of additional investors from around the world who are ready to take part in such projects.
As part of the topic of sustainable transport, the investment conference will also discuss production within railway transport.
The European Commission’s “European Green Deal” predicts a 90% reduction in emissions by 2050.
– According to the European Commission’s “Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy” and its action plan, Europe is focused on increasing the use of railways as one of the smart, competitive, safe and affordable transport systems, which means that investments in the production of components for this industry, and Serbia can find its place in investments in this area – says Dragana Krunić, Communications Advisor at RAS.
Innovations in Education presented at EXPO Dubai
In the meantime, the Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Branko Ruzic expressed confidence that the presentation of Serbian education and potential in the field of science and research at EXPO 2020 Dubai will attract the attention of new investors who will see the benefits of investing in our country.
He pointed out at the presentation “Dual Education in Serbia” that our country provides a more efficient response of the education system to the needs of the economy and the labor market, technological changes and the need for new competencies, the Ministry said in a statement.
The Serbian delegation consisting of 60 companies, scientific and educational institutions and institutions, as well as science and technology parks and innovation centers, will present their innovations and projects at the world exhibition “Expo 2020 Dubai” during the 4th thematic week “Knowledge and Learning”, which is started today and will last until December 18, eKapija reports.
