Serbia’s President, Aleksandar Vučić, revealed that he expects a direct flight from Belgrade to Miami to be launched by October. In an interview with Newsmax Balkans, Vučić highlighted that Air Serbia has already established two direct routes: Belgrade-New York and Belgrade-Chicago. He expressed optimism that a direct flight to Miami will further enhance Serbia’s connectivity and success in international aviation.
“We have already opened the Belgrade-New York and Belgrade-Chicago routes, and we hope to launch the Belgrade-Miami direct flight before October. This would be a significant achievement for Serbia, a small country, as well as for Air Serbia,” Vučić stated.
During the interview, the Serbian president also reflected on his previous meeting with President Donald Trump during his first term. Vučić recalled having a private two-and-a-half-hour discussion with members of the Trump administration, emphasizing the respect they showed for Serbia and their willingness to listen to representatives from smaller countries in the region. He expressed his satisfaction with the positive reception and respect he received at the time.
“People from the Trump administration listened attentively to our views. It was a significant moment for Serbia, as they showed respect and interest in hearing from us,” Vučić said.
In addition, Vučić expressed his pleasure that Newsmax Balkans is now available in the region, acknowledging the channel’s role in providing a critical yet open platform. He noted that the media’s critical perspective helps the government adjust its approach and address any mistakes.
“I’m happy Newsmax is here, as it offers a balanced perspective and helps us correct any missteps when necessary,” Vučić concluded.
