Serbia’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Siniša Mali visited the construction site of the Expo complex in Surčin, reporting that work is progressing according to plan.

Mali noted that the project includes the Expo complex, the National Football Stadium, 1,500 apartments, and related linear infrastructure. Around 4,000 workers and 1,000 machines are currently engaged, with 500 workers specifically on the stadium.

He stated that the pavilions for participating countries—currently 121—will be completed and handed over by the end of next year. Official participants will begin moving into the “Expo Village” in the second half of 2026 to prepare their national pavilions.

The National Football Stadium is also planned to be finished before the Expo opens. Mali described the site as one of the largest construction projects in Europe, calling it a major achievement and a source of pride for Serbia’s construction industry. He emphasized that Expo 2027 will drive economic growth, strengthen Serbia’s global position, and enhance international relations.

Expo 2027 in Belgrade is scheduled from May 15 to August 15, 2027, with participation from over 120 countries. The event is expected to attract more than four million visitors over its 93-day duration.
