The Tourism Organization of Serbia (TOS) is participating in the 46th International Tourism Fair, which was officially opened last night and will run until Sunday, February 23. TOS is presenting Serbia as a year-round destination, with a special focus on spas, intangible cultural heritage included on the UNESCO list, and inclusivity.
TOS Director Marija Labović met yesterday at the Italy stand, this year’s partner country at the tourism fair, with the Director of Italy’s National Tourism Organization, Ivana Jelinić. During the meeting, they exchanged experiences and discussed joint activities to further increase tourism traffic between Italy and Serbia. Italian tourists rank 13th among foreign visitors to Serbia in terms of overnight stays.
“This fair is very important for TOS, as it provides an opportunity to showcase all the tourism products of Serbia, with a particular emphasis on the spa offerings this year,” Labović said.
She also highlighted that 2024 was a record year for Serbian tourism across all parameters, with the latest data from the National Bank of Serbia showing a foreign exchange inflow from tourism of 2.833 billion EUR, which is 11 percent more than in 2023.
Labović discussed these results at a working meeting with representatives of local tourist organizations and the tourism industry. She also presented TOS’s plans for 2025 regarding activities in both domestic and foreign markets and called for even closer cooperation to make this tourism year even more successful than 2024.
